Module 3 - Google Docs

Whilst I have had heard of Google docs I was not sure of how they work. I am OK with setting up and saving the document. It took a little bit of time to "share' the document with people. I let my wife Bridget be the 'guinea pig' in trying it out.

Once the sharing issue was sorted out we were able to edit a document in 'real time'

At school I am about to embark on a project of how we can use the laptops/computers to bridge the divide of writing books/computers. There is a possibility that google docs may be a way that can used to do this, whilst allowing teachers access to the students work as we would in a book.

The big question will be how do we continue to have the students develop their writing especially when the external exams are paper based. I do not have the answer to this question but we will explore the possibility.
